Unless the character has already been decided, role-playing games allow us to enter a new universe where we can be whatever we want to be. There are many different role-playing games available on the PS3. It makes reasonable to narrow it down to the top ten PS3 RPG titles given the breadth of the options.
Here are the choices, for you to explore a new world.
1

Release: 2011
Developer: Bethesda Game Studios
Publisher: Bethesda Softworks
Bethesda was able to maintain the renown of The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim long enough for players to be entertained until the next Elder Scrolls game was released. Skyrim, which uses the traditional Bethesda RPG style, is enjoyable to play.
The game remains engaging even after thousands of hours thanks to numerous objectives for different factions, chance encounters, and the option to fully customize your character. Although it is regrettably unavailable on the PS3, mods enhance it even further.
2. Demon’s Souls

Release: 2009
Developer: FromSoftware
Publisher: Sony Computer Entertainment
Despite appearing to be a part of the Dark Souls series, Demon’s Souls is actually more closely tied to the King’s Field series. Being an action role-playing game, you may anticipate a respectable level of difficulty and a system akin to that seen in Dark Souls.
You resurrect as a soul once you die, but you lose all the souls you gathered. This mechanism is nearly the same as Dark Souls’ hollow system. As is typical of quality role-playing games, the game has several possible outcomes based on your choices and the path you pursue.
3. Dragon Age: Origins

Release: 2009
Developer: BioWare
Publisher: Electronic Arts
Dragon Age: Origins was a surprise to the world when BioWare was permitted to produce high-quality video games. It is a third-person role-playing game that centers on the world of Thedas, more especially Ferelden. Your mission as a Grey Warden is to defeat the Archdemon and put an end to the present Blight.
You may choose to ignore or assist the group of followers you have gathered along the way, some of whom may even be friends. There are several possible outcomes based on your decisions, which makes replayability alluring.
4. Resonance of Fate

Release: 2010
Developer: tri-Ace
Publisher: Sega
Another role-playing game in a world where swords and sorcery are common is Resonance of Fate. When you think of an RPG, you don’t immediately think of guns as weaponry. The blend of turn-based and real-time fighting becomes apparent once you’ve fully immersed yourself in the sci-fi setting.
We are placed in the far future on our beautiful planet. Humanity is hiding under the massive air purifier Basel because the environment is so dirty. A religious state is created and ready to explode at the beginning of the game as a result of history being altered and people forgetting their past.
5. Mass Effect 2

Release: 2010
Developer: BioWare
Publisher: Electronic Arts
With the exception of Andromeda, Mass Effect 2 is arguably the greatest of the three main games. Mostly because of the masterfully done tale building, it is everyone’s favorite. The storm preceding the bigger storm is the ideal balance of suspense and stakes.
Although somewhat hindered by the absence of vertical movement, the combat in this game is solid and far better than in the previous one. Because you can approach battles in different ways and take a different route in each chat, it provides replayability.
6. Persona 5

Release: 2016
Developer: Atlus
Publisher: Atlus, Deep Silver
Persona 5 offers a nearly timeless Persona experience with updated visuals. At least during school hours, you are thrust into a world as a somewhat casual individual, as is the case with most Persona titles. After school is when the fun begins.
As you explore the Metaverse at night, you can use the statistics you’ve accumulated throughout the day to help you grow your character. Persona 5 is a fantastic role-playing game and is perhaps among the top PS3 titles. (link to the main article on PS3)
7. Fallout 3

Release: 2008
Developer: Bethesda Game Studios
Publisher: Bethesda Softworks
The switch to 3D graphics in Fallout 3 sets it apart from all other Fallout games. Following The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion’s success, Bethesda released a fantastic game in their post-apocalyptic, humorous franchise.
Fallout 3 allows you to explore Washington, DC, in a world where radiation is one of your biggest concerns. There are also giant mutant cockroaches, terrifying creatures, and normal people trying to gain the upper hand. Then there you are, attempting to stay alive.
8. Tales of Xillia

Release: 2013
Developer: Namco Tales Studio
Publisher: Bandai Namco Entertainment
We are transported to a planet in Tales of Xillia where souls can be transformed into energy. We follow Jude Mathis on a journey that threatens not just his life but also the lives of his friends and new acquaintances. There may be a chance for peace in a world where two factions are at war.
In the sense that you can travel the world and engage with characters using a fully 3D-rendered field or adventure map, the game is a classic role-playing game. Although there aren’t many action locations, the battles take place on distinct maps and feature real-time combat.
9. Nier

Release: 2010
Developer: Cavia
Publisher: Square Enix
Nier offers us a glimpse of a lovely future planet that is sparsely populated by creatures we would like to engage with. It turns out that our protagonist’s journey to find a treatment for their loved one is more difficult than one might anticipate.
Real-time combat in a 3D environment is a feature of this action role-playing game. The character is controlled in the third person, which is common in action role-playing games, albeit not necessarily in Japanese ones. Nier is still a game worth playing again because of its plot and playability.
10. Final Fantasy XIII

Release: 2009/2010
Developer: Square Enix
Publisher: Square Enix
At least the PlayStation models from the late 1990s and beyond are linked to Final Fantasy XIII. We explore the world of Gran Pulse, where Lightning and her friends are on a vital mission, in a blend of science fiction and fantasy.
Up until a battle, you navigate a 3D environment in the third person. This brings up well-known features from earlier, venerable Final Fantasy games, such Active Time Battle. FF XIII is a notable role-playing game because of its fantastic tale, stunning graphics, and well-known mechanics.
These games can be accessed via the PlayStation Network, the original system, or a PS3 emulator. These are some of the greatest PS3 RPG games, even though they might not be everyone’s favorite consoles. They would be a fantastic introduction to a world full of incredible games and even television shows.
