Aubrey Plaza Husband Dead – PEOPLE can confirm the death of Aubrey Plaza’s spouse, writer and director Jeff Baena. His age was 47.

Around 10:30 a.m. local time on Friday, January 3, an assistant found Baena’s body at a residence in the Los Angeles region, according to law enforcement sources who spoke to TMZ. According to the site, he was declared dead at the spot.
It was determined by the Los Angeles Medical Examiner that Baena committed suicide by hanging.
PEOPLE’s request for comment was not immediately answered by Baena representatives.
Miami is where Baena was born and reared. After graduating from New York University’s film school, he relocated to Los Angeles to start his career in entertainment.
Baena’s filmography includes almost a dozen directing credits.

Most famously, he co-wrote the 2004 movie I Heart Huckabees, which starred Naomi Watts, Jude Law, and Jason Schwartzman. Shortly after, he wrote and directed the zombie comedy Life After Beth, which starred Plaza, 40, marking his directorial debut.
Later, Baena produced Cinema Toast, an anthology series that Plaza directed for the first time and broadcast on Showtime in 2021.
In 2011, Baena got to know Plaza and began dating her. Over the years, they never disclosed their engagement or wedding, keeping their relationship extremely covert.
When Plaza called Baena her “darling husband” on Instagram in May 2021, the world found out that the two had married.

Baena wrote and directed the dark comedy Spin Me Round in 2022 and the horror Horse Girl in 2020, both of which starred Alison Brie.
Alongside director David O. Russell, he co-wrote the 2004 comedy I Heart Huckabees, which featured a stellar cast that included Mark Wahlberg, Jude Law, Dustin Hoffman, Naomi Watts, Lily Tomlin, and Jason Schwartzman.
